Steamed Eggs with Fresh Clams

Steamed eggs is a very common home cooking dish in Chinese cuisine. Today, we will share a seafood version of this traditional recipe; by adding fresh clams to the eggs. This simple dish will certainly be convenient and delicious as well.

Step 1
Bring a pot of water to a boil, add clams to cook until they are all opened. This will take 4-5 minutes, depending on the size of the clams.

Step 2
While clams are boiling, beat the egg in a mixing bowl. Add water, mix well. Add chopped green onions.

Step 3
Once the clams are cooked, drain the water and place inside a steaming plate. Make sure the clams are dry so the eggs will not get too watery.

Step 4
Pour the egg mixture on top of the clams.

Step 5
Prepare for steaming.

Step 6
In a sauce pan or a wok, bring some water to a boil. Place the steaming rack in the center and put the plate of steamed eggs on top. Steam on medium heat for 8 minutes until the eggs are set but NOT over cooked. Serve with a drizzle of sesame oil, if desired.
