Matcha Sweet Rice Ball with Chocolate Filling

Having sweet rice balls is the tradition of Lantern Festival. Unlike the traditional ones which are filled with peanut butter or sesame paste, these having chocolate filling and matcha wrapper are also delicious.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
In a pot, bring half of the whipping cream to simmer then add into the dark chocolate and whisk until it melt.

Step 2
Add the remaining whipping cream and mix well. Transfer to the container with plastic wrap and refrigerated for an hour.

Step 3
Place the chocolate on the plastic wrap and form it into a log and refrigerated for another hour.

Step 4
In a bowl, mix together the glutinous rice flour and matcha powder. Gradually add the warm water to knead into dough.

Step 5
Divided the dough evenly into a small ball, cover with plastic wrap and use the rolling pin to roll into a disc.

Step 6
Fill the chocolate in the wrapper, wet the hands and form it into a ball.

Step 7
In a pot, bring the water to boil. Add the ginger and cane sugar.

Step 8
Add the rice ball and cook until is floating. Ready to serve.
