Thai Prawn and Vermicelli Pot

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Devein the prawns. Soak the vermicelli until soft. Chop the shallots, red bird chili, garlic, cilantro stems and set aside.

Step 2
Crush the white pepper. Add garlic, cilantro stems and crush again.

Step 3
Mix together oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, fish sauce, water, sesame oil and sugar.

Step 4
In a pot, add some oil on medium heat. Add ginger and sauté until fragrant. Add prawns and sear until half-cooked.

Step 5
Add white pepper mixture, shallots, red bird chili and sauté until fragrant.

Step 6
Add vermicelli, sauce and mix well. Place the prawns on top. Increase to high heat and cook until the sauce is thickened.

Step 7
Remove from heat. Cover the lid and set for 2 minutes. Ready to serve.
