Garlic Prawns with Crispy Baguette

The Spanish love to use olive oil and garlic for cooking. This dish is very easy to make. Extract the prawn oil by pan-frying the prawn heads and cook the garlic. Serving with crispy baguette, this is a very delightful garlicky tapa!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.Place a baking paper on a baking tray. Brush both sides of the baguette with olive oil. Place on the baking tray and bake for 6 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 2
Devein the shrimps and remove the heads. Keep the heads and set aside. Rinse and drain. Marinate with salt and white wine for 10 minutes.

Step 3
Slice the garlic. Remove the seeds of chili and mince. Pat dry the prawns. Set aside.

Step 4
In a pan, add some olive oil on a medium heat. Add the shrimp heads and sauté until fragrant. Remove the heads until oil turns slightly red.

Step 5
Reduce to medium low heat. Add sliced garlic and chili. Cook for 12-15 minutes until the garlic turns golden brown.

Step 6
Increase to medium heat. Add the shrimps and sauté until cooked.

Step 7
Season with salt, 1/2 tsp parsley and lemon juice.

Step 8
Place a shrimp on each slice of baguette. Sprinkle with sliced garlic and parsley. Ready to serve.
