Tomato Beef Stew
Recipe Details
Tomato and beef is a perfect match, use tomato to cook with beef ribs is suitable for winter. Beef ribs are good for stew, because it does not need a high skill of cooking technique and can be taste good and tender. The sweet and sour flavor infuses to the ribs, pair it with rice or spaghetti must give a good appetites.

Step 1
Clean the tomato, remove the core and cut into pieces.

Step 2
Clean the cut the beef ribs into pieces.

Step 3
Peel and cut the ginger and onion to pieces.

Step 4
In a pot, add enough water and 10mL Chinese cooking wine. Blanch the beef ribs, drain and set aside.

Step 5
In a shallow pan, add oil and sauté the ginger, garlic and beef ribs until golden brown.

Step 6
Add onion and half of the tomato, quick stir.

Step 7
Add enough water to cover the ingredients. Add star anise, Chinese cooking wine, light soy sauce and bring it to boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low, cover the lid and cook it for 60 minutes.

Step 8
Add the remaining tomato and cook for another 10 minutes. Turn to high heat and cook until the sauce has thickened. Season with salt.Plate up. Sprinkle with green onion and ready to serve
