Taro Filling Paste Glutinous Rice Ball

Step 1
Soak and rinse the longans. Peel, dice and steam the taro until soft.Mash the taro while it is still warm. Mix together with light brown sugar and unsalted butter.

Step 2
Add milk and mix well. Roll into balls at 8g each.

Step 3
Gradually add warm water and oil into the glutinous rice flour. Form into a non-sticky dough. Roll into balls at 10g each.Slightly flatten the balls and stuff the taro filling inside.

Step 4
Bring 1000mL water to boil. Add ginger, longans and brown sugar. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes until the brown sugar melts.

Step 5
Bring some water to boil. Add the glutinous rice balls and cook until they float.

Step 6
Transfer the glutinous rice balls to the ginger sweet soup and cook for 1-2 minutes. Ready to serve.
