Sweet-sour Spareribs is a traditional popular dish which suits people from all ages. If good ingredients are chosen, it will be fresh, soft and looks nice. The sweet-sourness boosts your appetite too.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Mix spareribs with cooking wine and soy sauce.

Step 2
Peel potato and shred it. Mash green onion. Shred Chinese onion and ginger. Slice garlic.

Step 3
Soak shredded potato in water to remove starch on surface.

Step 4
Put shredded potato in boiling water until it starts to be colorless. Take out immediately and rinse in cold water for further use.

Step 5
Heat the pan with oil, add Sichuan pepper, dried chilies and stir-pan.

Step 6
Take Sichuan pepper and chilies out and turn off heat.

Step 7
The pan is still heat. So immediately put in shredded potato, green onion, salt, vinegar and sesame oil then stir well.

Step 8
Take out.

Step 9
Heat the pan with oil. Put in spareribs and pan-fry for 7 minutes.

Step 10
Remove the oil.

Step 11
Put in 300mL hot water, green onion, ginger, garlic, cooking wine, soy sauce, rice vinegar and sugar.

Step 12
Cover them and wait for 20 minutes.

Step 13
Turn to high heat so that the water inside will be absorbed. Uncover it a bit and add salt.

The sauce becomes thickened. Then take it out and serve on plate.
