Stuffed Daikon with Chinese Sausage and Shrimp Paste

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Steam the Kee Wah Chinese Sausage for 2-3 minutes and let cool. Dice one and slice the other. Soak the dried mushrooms until soft, remove the stem and dice. Set aside.

Step 2
Marinate the shrimp paste with Chinese cooking wine, salt and ground white pepper for 15 minutes.

Step 3
Mix together Kee Wah Chinese Sausage, shrimp paste, mushrooms, carrot and green onion.

Step 4
Peel the daikon and cut into 3cm thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut into same size and scoop a small hole in the middle.

Step 5
In a pot, bring the chicken broth to boil and cook the daikon for about 5-8 minutes. Drain and let cool.

Step 6
Stuff the daikon with shrimp paste. Transfer to a plate and steam for 6 minutes. Place Chinese Sausage slices on top. Steam for another 2 minutes or until the shrimp paste is cooked.

Step 7
In a pot, add the oyster sauce, corn starch water, sugar and cook until thickened. Pour the sauce over the daikon and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
