Stir-fried Homemade BBQ Pork with Honey Peas

Pork butt is the cut of pork that comes from the upper part of the shoulder. There are muscles and a bit fat in this cut so it is always used to roast as BBQ pork. Follow this recipe and you can make BBQ pork as tasty as those in the restaurants.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
In a bowl, whisk together the barbeque paste, chu hau paste, minced ginger, Chinese rose wine, light soy sauce, corn starch, 5 spices powder, water and marinate the pork for at least 4 hours

Step 2
Lay the foil on the baking tray, place the pork with the marinade. Cover with foil and cook in the oven for 20 minutes. Turn the pork over and cook for another 15 minutes

Step 3
At the meantime, combine the maltose sugar, hot water and double boil until the maltose sugar is soften

Step 4
Discard the liquid from the tray and brush the honey glaze on the pork and place it back in the oven and cook it for 10-15 minutes on each side until slightly burn

Step 5
Let cool and cut into slice

Step 6
In a pot, bring the water to boil and slightly blanch the honey pea and carrot. Drain and set aside

Step 7
In a pan, add some oil on a medium high heat. Sauté the ginger and garlic until fragrant. Add the honey pea and carrot and stir well

Step 8
Add the bbq pork, Chinese cooking wine, oyster sauce and sugar. Stir well and ready to serve
