Stir-fried Beef and Rice Noodle with All-purpose Marinade Sauce

All-purpose marinade sauce is literally Swiss sauce in Cantonese but it is not related to Swiss at all! This sauce goes well with fried rice noodles.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Prepare the all-purpose marinade sauce. In a pot, combine the green onion, ginger, anises, dried orange peel, cinnamon stick, rock sugar, light soy sauce and dark soy sauce. Bring it to simmer and cook for 20 minutes.

Step 2
Add the water and sesame oil and cook for another 10 minutes. Set aside and let cool.

Step 3
Slice the onion and cut the green onion into section.

Step 4
Slice the beef and marinate with all-purpose marinade, corn starch, water and white pepper for 20 minutes. Drizzle with some oil, mix well and let it sit for another 5 minutes.

Step 5
In a pan, add some oil on a medium high heat. Sauté the beef for a minute until half cook and set aside.

Step 6
In the same pan, add some oil and sauté the onion until fragrant, add the noodles and use the chopstick to separate.

Step 7
Add the beef, bean sprout and toss well.

Step 8
Add the all-purpose marinade sauce and toss until the noodles are coated with the sauce.

Step 9
Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle the green onion. Toss well and ready to serve.
