Stewed Chicken in Spicy Black Bean and Dried Shrimp Sauce

It is very tempting to marinate the chicken thigh with the slightly spicy Black Bean and Dried Shrimp Sauce. The fried tofu absorbs the sauce, irresistible!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Cut the chicken thigh and yellow bell pepper into pieces. Slightly smash the shallots with a knife and halve the fried tofu. Slice the red chili pepper and cut the green onion into sections. Set aside. Marinate the chicken thigh with1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, 1 tsp sugar, ground white pepper, corn starch and 1 tbsp DayDayCook Spicy Black Bean and Dried Shrimp Sauce for 20 minutes.

Step 2
In a pan, add some oil on medium heat. Add minced garlic, shallots and stir-fry until fragrant.

Step 3
Add chicken thigh and sear until half-cooked.

Step 4
Add yellow bell pepper, red chili pepper, red onion, fried tofu and the remaining DayDayCook Spicy Black Bean and Dried Shrimp Sauce. Mix well.

Step 5
Add the remaining Chinese cooking wine, sugar, oyster sauce and bring to boil.

Step 6
Cover the lid, reduce to medium low heat and cook for 5 minutes or until the chicken is done.

Step 7
Add green onion and stir well. Ready to serve.
