Steamed Pork Patty with Bitter Melon and Salted Egg

Bitter melon is popular in Summer. Steaming keep its nutrients. With the salted egg, this pork patty is delicious and healthy!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Cut the bitter melon in half, remove the seeds and cut into small pieces.

Step 2
In a pot, bring the water to boil and blanch the bitter melon for 2 minutes then transfer to cold water to cool. Drain and set aside.

Step 3
Wash and slice the pork belly and pork shoulder. Use the knife and mince the pork.

Step 4
In a bowl, add the pork, egg white, Chinese cooking wine, light soy sauce, sesame oil, corn starch, sugar, white pepper and mix well.

Step 5
Gradually add the water and mix until the pork mixture is smooth. Add the bitter melon, mix well and let it sit for 20 minutes.

Step 6
Transfer the pork mixture to the plate. Add the salted egg yolk in the middle and steam it for 10-12 minutes or until the pork is fully cooked.

Step 7
Sprinkle with chopped green onion and ready to serve.
