Sesame Chicken Stew

Step 1
Slice the ginger

Step 2
Cut the green onion into section

Step 3
Soak the mushrooms until soft, save the liquid and slice into halves

Step 4
Remove the pit from the red dates

Step 5
Remove the fat and skin of the chicken and cut into medium sized pieces

Step 6
In a sauté pan, heat up some oil on high heat. Add ginger and green onions to sauté until aromatic

Add the chicken to brown, about 4-5 minutes

Step 8
Add red dates, Chinese mushrooms, Chinese rice wine, chicken broth and mushroom water, bring it to a boil

Step 9
Reduce the heat to medium. Cover the lid and simmer for 20 minutes

Step 10
Add sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes
