Rice Cooker Spare Rib in Zhenjiang Style

It is very convenient to cook Zhenjiang Spare Rib with a rice cooker. The flavour is more intense.

Step 1
Flatten the garlic and shallots. Rinse and pat the spare ribs dry.

Step 2
Marinate the spare ribs with light soy sauce and 1/2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine for 15 minutes.

Step 3
In a pan, add some oil on medium heat. Add ginger, garlic, shallots and sauté until fragrant.

Step 4
Add spare ribs and sear until golden brown on both sides. Add the remaining Chinese cooking wine and mix well.

Step 5
In the rice cooker, add garlic, shallots, spare ribs, black rice vinegar, rock sugar, dark soy sauce and water. Press the start button and cook for 45-60 minutes. Ready to serve.
