Purple Yam with Custard Mochi

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Peel and cut the purple yam into pieces and steam it for 8-10 minutes until soft

Step 2
Divided the custard into a 12 portion about 2cm ball

Step 3
In a mixing bowl, mash the yam

Step 4
Add about half amount of the glutinous rice flour (add a little flour at a time depends on the water content on the yam) then add oil and sugar

Step 5
Knead the dough until smooth and not sticky, then divided into balls

Step 6
Stuff the custard inside the ball and place on the plate. Repeat the step until finish the custard

Step 7
Steam the mochi for 8 minutes

Step 8
Coated the mochi with the coconut flakes. Ready to serve
