Purple Yam Sago Pudding

The chewy sago pudding goes very well with the purple yam filling. Simple to make and yummy!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Bring 1000mL water to boil. Add sago and cook for 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat, cover the lid and set for 25 minutes. Transfer to cold water, drain and set aside.

Step 2
Separate the mashed purple yam into balls, flatten with hands and set aside.

Step 3
Mix together water chestnut powder and water. Add sugar and mix well. Add sago, vegetable oil and mix well.

Step 4
Brush the molds with oil. Add the sago mixture until 60% full. Cover with sago mixture.

Step 5
Steam on medium high heat for 10-12 minutes until transparent. Remove from molds and ready to serve.
