Potato Au Gratin
Recipe Details
This is a creamy potato dish. The taste of cheddar cheese is very rich. Gratin originated in French cuisine and is usually prepared in a shallow dish of some kind. A gratin is usually baked to form a golden crust on top and is traditionally served in its baking dish.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Wash potatoes, skin, and cut into thin slices

Step 2
Shred the white cheddar

Step 3
Gently whisk the heavy cream w/ dash of salt & pepper

Step 4
In a baking tray, start with a layer of potatoes, then add cheddar. Repeat with the layers until all potatoes and cheddar are gone

Step 5
Finally pour on heavy cream and top with mozzerella cheese

Step 6
Cover with foil, bake for 90 minutes in 200 degrees oven

Step 7
Remove foil, bake for additional 30 mins or until cheese is golden brown
