Pasta with Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Boil a pot of water and cook the fettuccine according to package instructions. Reserve some pasta water.

Step 2
Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Melt butter and olive oil and add garlic and shallots. Sauté until soft and fragrant.

Step 3
When the fettuccine is half cooked (around 5minutes), add the lemon juice and a couple of spoonful of pasta water to the frying pan. Let it cook 1 minute and add the cream. Turn down the heat and let the sauce simmer and slight thicken.

Step 4
Mix in the cooked fettuccine.

Step 5
Season with salt, black pepper and sugar.

Step 6
Turn off heat. Add 1/2 grated parmesan cheese, lemon zest and chopped parsley to the sauce and mix well.

Step 7
Divide onto serving plates. Sprinkle the remaining lemon zest, parmesan cheese and chopped parsley on top.

Step 8
Ready to serve
