Oreo Frozen Custard

This ice cream is deliciously decadent. After tasting making this recipe at home, it will be hard to go back to ordinary store bought oreo ice cream.

Step 1
Whisk together the egg
Step 2
Warm the cream, milk and salt in a pot over medium heat
Step 3
When the mixture begins to simmer, turn off the heat and slowly pour into the egg yolk mixture, whisk constantly
Step 4
Then return the egg yolks mixture back to the pot
Step 5
Stir the mixture constantly over medium heat with a whisk until the mixture is thicken
Step 6
Pour the custard through the strainer and stir
Step 7
stir in the vanilla extract, adn when the custard is cool, cover and place in the refrigerator and chill at least 2 hours, or
Step 8
According to the manufacturer’s instructions, pour the custard in the ice cream maker
Step 9
Once the ice cream is ready, layer it into the freezer-safe container with alternating layers of the chopped cookies, beginning and ending with the ice cream
Step 10
Place the container back in the freezer and serve in cold
