Edchi and Kelv are gourmet food illustrators. They love rambling in the city. Discover the delicious food, taste it and draw it. Osaka is the first place they travelled together so they would like to introduce you Okonomiyaki, which is described as "Osaka soul food".

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Slice the pork belly. Season with a pinch of salt

Step 2
Shred the cabbage

Step 3
Blanch the crab-flavored sticks and shred it

Step 4
Sift the flour

Step 5
Soak the dashi soup stock with 300mL hot water for 3-4 minutes

Step 6
Grind the Chinese yam

Step 7
Add egg to the Chinese yam and mix together. Then add 3 tsp dashi soup stock, flour, crab-flavored sticks and cabbage

Step 8
Heat the pan and add some oil. Add the batter

Step 9
Pan-try until slightly set. Cover the lid and cook for a while

Step 10
Add sliced pork belly on the pancake

Step 11
Flip over the pancake and cook until the pork is cooked

Step 12
Plate up. Brush with Okonomi sauce

Step 13
Sprinkle with Japanese mayonnaise, nori flakes, tobiko and bonito flakes. Ready to serve
