Moussaka
Recipe Details
Moussaka is a Greek national dish. It is a mix of eggplant, mashed potato and seasoned minced beef. The ingredients are separately cooked and plated layer by layer. Seasoned with olive oil and rich cheese, the square dish is baked to golden in the oven. The cheese on the top is little brown and crispy. When enjoying the dish, happiness is produced which the multiple layers of the dish and we all yearn for the scenery and architecture of the great ancient civilization.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Cut off two ends of eggplant after washing, then cut through it from the middle vertically. Add black pepper, some olive oil and salt on the eggplant, put it in the steam pot, cook it until it is well

Step 2
Wash potato. Cook in boiling water. Add some olive oil and salt. Cook until ready. Remove, peel and mash cooked potato.

Step 3
Preheat oven to 180 . Cut onion into dices.

Step 4
Add onion dices, olive oil, cinnamon powder, salt and black pepper to minced beef. Stir well.

Step 5
Put all ingredients in step 1 to 4 into a bowl. Add breadcrumb, mix to a thick semi-solid state.

Step 6
Add flour, whipping cream and 100g Mozzarella cheese in a bowl. Stir well into a thick paste.

Step 7
Grease a mould with olive oil. Wrap one side of the mould with foil, put on the baking dish. Press the mixture in step 5 into the mould, height about half of the mould.

Step 8
Add the cheese layer ingredient in top of the mixture, about ¾ of the height of the mould, fill the rest with mozzarella cheese shred and put the mould into the oven. Bake it until the mozzarella chee
