Morinda Root Du Zhong and Deer Sinew Soup

Step 1
Rinse and soak the chuan duan, morinda roots, du zhong, huai niu xi, red dates and longan. Soak the deer sinews overnight until soft. Cut the pork knuckle into pieces.

Step 2
Cut the deer sinews into sections. Bring some water to boil and blanch the deer sinews. Drain and set aside.

Step 3
Blanch the pork knuckles, drain and set aside.

Step 4
Bring the deer sinews, du zhong, chuan duan, morinda roots, huai niu xi, red dates, longan and 2000mL water to boil on medium heat. Cover the lid, reduce to medium low heat and cook for 1 hour.

Step 5
Remove the lid and add pork knuckles. Cover the lid again and cook for another 2 hours.

Step 6
Season with salt and ready to serve.
