Margherita Garlic Toast

As an Italian cuisine, Margherita is a pizza with tomato, basil and mozzarella, which are in the colours of Italian flag - red, green and white. We recreate it into a light toast recipe and add garlic to boost its flavour.

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C.

Step 2
Slice the baguette in bias and about 2.5cm thick.

Step 3
Spread the butter and sprinkle with minced garlic.

Step 4
Place the bread in the oven and bake it for 8-10 minutes, remove and set aside.

Step 5
Slice the mozzarella cheese. Shred the basil leaves. Slice the cherry tomatoes.

Step 6
Boil the egg in water, shelled and chop into pieces.

Step 7
Add the basil, season with salt, black pepper and mix well.

Step 8
Add the egg salad, mozzarella cheese and cherry tomato on the garlic bread.

Step 9
Sprinkle extra shredded basil for garnish and serve.
