Lotus Root stuffed Glutinous Rice with Honey Osmanthus Glaze

Lotus root is sweet and cold, it also nourishing tonic, is a clear complementary ingredients. Stuff it with the glutinous rice to make a fresh honey lotus, it is refreshing.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Soak the glutinous rice for 2-3 hours. Drain and set aside

Step 2
Soak the red date until soft and remove the seed

Step 3
Clean and peel the lotus root. Trim off the ends, save for later use

Step 4
Drain the holes with running water to ensure inside is clean

Step 5
Fill the holes of the lotus root with the glutinous rice

Step 6
Use the chopstick to push in and make sure the rice is packed inside

Step 7
Place the ends back on the lotus root, secure with the toothpicks. So the rice will not be loosen

Step 8
Prepare a pot of water, add the lotus root, red dates, rock sugar and osmanthus honey

Step 9
Bring the water to boil and reduce the heat to low and cook until the lotus root is soften

Step 10
Transfer the lotus root to the plate and let cool. Cut the lotus root into slice

Step 11
Cook over high heat until the sauce is thicken

Step 12
Drizzle the sauce over the lotus root and serve
