Step 1
Chop the basil, garlic and red bird chili.

Step 2
In a pan, add some oil on medium low heat.

Step 3
Sauté the garlic, red bird chili and half of the chopped basil.

Step 4
Add Japanese scallops. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

Step 5
Sear the scallops until golden brown on both sides.

Step 6
Increase to high heat and sear for 1 minute. Add the remaining basil and sauté.

Step 7
Ready to serve
