Japanese Grilled Black Cod with White Miso

This is a very popular traditional Japanese grilled fish marinated in white miso. With the sweet taste from white miso, the grilled fish is so delicious!

Step 1
Preheat an oven to 200°C. Cover a baking tray with foil, place a grill on top and set aside.

Step 2
Rinse and pat the black cod dry. Put into a zipper storage bag.

Step 3
Mix together the white miso, sake, mirin, sugar and ginger. Pour into the zipper storage bag and coat the whole black cod with the marinade.

Step 4
Refrigerate and marinate for at least 2 days.

Step 5
Remove the excess marinade from the black cod. Place on the grill and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Ready to serve.
