Italian Gnocchi
Recipe Details
This is a classic Italiandough dumpling, which is made with few ingredients like potatoes, flour and eggs. It has ridges to hold sauce well and is usually eaten as a replacement for pasta as a first course.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Clean and boil the potatoes. Peel off the skin and use potato masher to mash the potatoes. Clean and devein the shrimps. Chop the parsley and slice the red chili peppers. Set aside.

Step 2
Mix together the mashed potato, 100gall-purpose flour, chopped parsley and egg yolk. Knead the dough into a ball.

Step 3
Sprinkle 50g flour on surface area. Divide the dough into pieces and roll it into logs. Cut it into small pieces and use a fork to make ridges and roll it up.

Step 4
In a pot, bring the water to boil. Add the gnocchi and cook until floating. Drain and toss with olive oil. Set aside.

Step 5
In a pan, add some oil and sauté the garlic until fragrant. Sear the gnocchi until slightly golden brown. Add the shrimp and quick stir.

Step 6
Add chicken broth, tomatoes, cayenne pepper, sea salt and black pepper. Cook until the sauce has thickened.

Step 7
Transfer to the plate. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, sour cream and red chili pepper. Ready to serve.
