Indian Lamb Biryani

This Indian lamb and rice dish is a delicious meal for dinner parties. It may be a bit time consuming but you will never be disappointed with the results!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Cut the lamb shoulder into pieces, dice the onion and set aside.

Step 2
In a bowl, add the lamb marinade and mix well. Add the lamb shoulder, onion and combine together. Refrigerate for at least 5 hours.

Step 3
In a pot, add butter and stir fry lamb shoulder for 5 minutes. Close the lid and cook for 25 minutes.

Step 4
In another pot, add Basmati rice, ground fennel, ground clove, saffron and minced ginger. Add water and mix together. Cook for 10 minutes under high heat.

Step 5
Place the cooked rice on the lamb. Close the lid and place into an oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes under 190°C.

Step 6
Transfer to a plate. Serve the lamb with cilantro leaves and Greek yogurt.
