In a bowl, combine water and barley. Soak for 20 minutes until soft

In a separate bowl, combine rice with water and soak for 20 minutes also. Discard the water

Soften the black fungus until soft. Drain dry, then slice into pieces

In a pot, combine rice, barley, black fungus, and red dates. Add 750mL water. Boil on high heat for 10 minutes. Then reduce to medium heat and simmer for 30 minutes

Step 6
Add baby carrots, green peas, and corn. Simmer for 15 minutes

Step 7
Season with salt to taste
