Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Slice and butterfly the grass carp

Step 2
Marinate the grass carp with Chinese cooking wine, sesame oil, salt and white pepper for 10 minutes

Step 3
Peel and slice the ginger. Clean the cilantro and trim off the end

Step 4
Remove the shell, clean and cut the thousand year old egg into forth

Step 5
In a pot, bring 1.5L water to boil. Add the ginger and the cilantro. Cook for 15 minutes

Step 6
Add the thousand year old egg and cook for 5 minutes

Step 7
Add the grass carp and cook for 3-4 minutes

Step 8
Season with salt and white pepper. Ready to serve
