Easy Gingerbread Man

Step 1
In a bowl, combine cake flour, baking powder, ginger powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt

Run the ingredient through a sift

In an electricity mixture, combine softened butter and brown sugar until soft and fluffy on medium speed

Add golden syrup, egg, and milk, one at a time. Mix well on medium speed

Add the flour mixture in 3 separate times

For the third addition, turn off the electric mixture and fold in the flour manually with a spatula

Place the cookie dough in between 2 pieces of cling films

Flatten the dough into a 1 cm thick disc, wrap up the cling films. Refrigerate for 30 minutes

While refrigerating the cookie dough, prepare the icing. In a mixing bowl, combine egg white, lemon juice, and icing sugar. Mix well with a whisk

The icing should be smooth and thick to prevent runny or watering icing when we decorate

Remove the dough from the fridge, unwrap the cling films. Use different sizes of the cookie cutter to make gingerbread man shapes. Arrange on a prepared baking tray

Bake the cookies in a preheated oven (200 degree Celsius) for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to completely cool

Once the cookies are cooled, decorate with icing to draw the gingerbread man faces and shirts. Ready to serve
