Deep fry daikon donut is a street snack at Jiangsu, Zhejiang region, also known as radish cake. Belongs to fried foods, salty batter plus fresh radish, green onion makes the taste of the donut have layered appearance and golden brown outside and tender inside. Because of low in pricing, a lot of people who grew up in Jiangsu, Zhejiang region, it is popular for breakfast or afternoon tea.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Peel and shred the daikon radish, add some salt to help release the excess liquid.

Step 2
Chop the green onion and cilantro.

Step 3
Mix together the shredded daikon, 2/3 of the green onion, chop cilantro, sesame oil, black pepper and salt.

Step 4
Combine the all-purpose flour, water, oil, egg and the rest of the green onion to mix into a batter.

Step 5
Add oil in the pot (make sure the mold is fit). Heat the oil and place the mold in the oil to heat up.

Step 6
Add some batter in the mold and place in the oil and slightly fry then remove from the oil.

Step 7
Add the daikon mixture then add some more batter over. Place it back to the oil and fry until the donut remove form the mold.
