In Korean, it is 부대찌개 (BudaeJjigae). It is a popular Korean hot pot meal. Korean Army Stew is surprisingly simple to prepare and requires no cooking skill!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Julienne the cabbage. Cut the green onion into sections. Remove the head of dried fish. Cut the onion into pieces and set aside.

Step 2
Prepare the stock. In a pot, add water, dried fish, salt, Shiitake mushrooms and dried seaweed. Close the lid and cook for 25 minutes. Take out the fish and seaweed. Slice the Shiitake mushrooms and set aside.

Step 3
Prepare the sauce. Whisk together the minced garlic, Korean chili powder, Korean chili sauce, light soy sauce, sugar and water.

Step 4
Place the cabbage, 1/2 green onion, pork slices, mushrooms, kimchi and baked bean onto the pot evenly.

Step 5
Add luncheon meat, cocktail sausages, rice cakes, onion, sprouts and sauce.

Step 6
Add cheddar cheese, fish cake, vermicelli, ramen and remaining green onion. Add some stock and cook under high heat until completely cooked. Ready to serve.
