Slice the ginger and cut the green onion into section

Cut the chicken into pieces and marinade for 20 minutes

Cut the onion into medium size

In the shallow pan, add oil on a medium high heat. Sauté the ginger and green onion until fragrant

Add the chicken and cook until golden brown

Deglaze with Chinese cooking wine

Add the onion and red dates. Cook for about 5 minutes

Bring the broth to boil and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 15 minutes until the chicken is cooked and the sauce is thicken
