Three cup chicken is a traditional Chinese dish originated from the Jiangxi province in China. It is named after its simple ingredients: without any broth or water, the chicken is prepared with one cup of Chinese cooking wine, one cup of lard and one cup of soy sauce. The dish has a very strong taste that is perfect with a bowl or rice. In our recipe, we use sesame oil to replace the lard for a healthier version.
