It was said that once there was a famous Chinese Emperor, known as Qianlong, hunting for wild games in the Inner Mongolia grassland. While hunting, he caught a chicken. Not long after he caught the chicken, he came across a sesame field. Qianlong had the idea that he will cook the chicken with sesame. He was delighted with the sesame and chicken combination that he named the dish – Sesame Chicken. Since then, sesame chicken has become a well-known imperial court dish, and till today, it is also a popular household dish.
