Checkerboard Matcha Cookies
Recipe Details
Although checkerboard cookies look complicated, these delectable cookies are easy to make. Just few minutes you can make these good-looking cookies and taste 2 flavors each bite.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
In a mixer, beat the butter until fluffy. Add the sugar, egg yolk, vanilla extract and mix together.

Step 2
Sieve in the all-purpose flour, salt and mix into a dough

Step 3
Divide the dough in half and add the matcha powder in one of the dough and knead until the matcha is fully corporate

Step 4
Divided each dough in half again and roll the doughs into logs with same size

Step 5
Place a parchment paper on the surface area and arrange the log like the checker pattern.

Step 6
Slightly wrap it tight and ensure the doughs are pat lightly together and form into a square log. Refrigerate for an hour to set.

Step 7
Cut the dough about 2cm thick.

Step 8
Preheat the oven to 180ºC and bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly brown.

Step 9
Let cool and ready to serve
