No men can resist a delicious hot dog. For this one, each bite you can taste the caramelized onion and melted cheese. Put a tiny twist and your average hot dog will become totally different!

Slice the onion

In a pan, add some oil on a medium heat. Sauté the onion, check every 5 minutes and stir until the onion turn brown and set aside

In a pan, slightly toast the hot dog bun and set aside

In the same pan, add some oil on a medium low heat. Cook the hot dog sausage until crispy outside

Transfer the sausage to the bun
Step 6
Prepare the cheese sauce. In a pan, melt the butter on a medium heat and stir in the flour to make a roux

Gradually add the milk and whisk until it smooth. Bring it to boil then lower the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes

Add the cheddar cheese and stir until the cheese is melted，Season with salt and white pepper
Step 9
Pour the cheese sauce over the hot dog and top with the caramelized onion. Ready to serve
