Braised Pork Spareribs with Winter Melon and Astragalus

Although winter melon is a summer vegetable. But can easily available all year around. Use the winter melon to cook with the spareribs which can absorb the flavor and also can reduce the greasiness of the spareribs. Astragalus is the Chinese herbs which can help enhance immune system and make it healthier.

Step 1
Peel the winter melon and cut into pieces. Cut the cilantro into section.

Step 2
Clean and drain the spareribs and set aside.

Step 3
In a shallow pan, add some oil and sear the spareribs until golden brown.

Step 4
Add the astragalus, winter melon, red dates and enough water to cover all the ingredients. Bring it to boil over high heat. Then reduce the heat to low and Cover the lid. Cook it for 50 minutes until

Step 5
Add the wolfberries and cook for another 10 minutes. Season with salt.

Step 6
Plate up. Sprinkle with cilantro and ready to serve.
