Braised Pork Belly with Spring Bamboo Shoots

Step 1
Rinse, peel and cut the spring bamboo shoots into pieces. Cut the green onion into sections.

Step 2
Rinse and cut the pork belly into pieces, about 1cm each.

Step 3
Bring a pot of water to boil. Add spring bamboo shoots and blanch for 1 minute. Drain and set aside.

Step 4
Heat some oil in a pan. Add pork belly and stir on medium heat until golden brown.

Step 5
Add green onion, spring bamboo shoots, light and dark soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine and sugar.

Step 6
Add water to cover the ingredients and bring to boil on high heat. Reduce to low heat and cook for 20 minutes. Cook until the sauce is thickened. Ready to serve.
