Braised Pork Belly with Mushroom and Chestnut

Stewed mushrooms is one of the most missed dishes in autumn and winter, because can use the combination of different ingredients to cook together. The combination of chestnuts and pork belly, the aroma coming out from the kitchen makes people crazy.

Step 1
Soak the dried mushroom until soft, remove the stem and cut in pieces

Step 2
Peel and cut the onion into pieces

Step 3
Peel and slice the ginger. Cut the green onion into section

Step 4
Slice the shallot and garlic

Step 5
Cut the pork belly into pieces and marinate with Chinese cooking wine, light soy sauce, corn starch, sugar and white pepper for 20 minutes

Step 6
In a pan, add some oil on a medium high heat. Add the pork belly and sear it until golden brown

Step 7
Add the garlic, shallot, ginger and onion

Step 8
Cook until the onion is tender then add the chestnut and mushroom

Step 9
Add the chicken broth, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and bring it to boil

Step 10
Reduce the heat to medium and cover the lid, cook it for 25 minutes until the pork is fully cook and the chestnut is soft
