Braised Pork Back Ribs with Sweet and Sour Sauce

Back ribs is the ribs cut from the belly. This part is meaty and less greasy, which is better to be deep-fried or braised. With the sweet and sour sauce and the meaty ribs, this dish goes well with rice.

Step 1
In a bowl, whisk together the fermented red bean curd, Chinese cooking wine, sweet soy sauce, sesame oil, 5 spices powder and white pepper

Step 2
Marinate the pork back ribs for at least an hour

Step 3
Mince the garlic and shallot

Step 4
In another bowl, whisk together the black vinegar, sugar, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce

Step 5
Dust the pork back ribs with corn starch and deep fry until golden brown. Transfer to the kitchen paper to absorb the excess grease.

n a pan, add some oil on a medium heat. Sauté the garlic and shallot until fragrant

Step 7
Add the pork back ribs and the ketchup mixture. Cook until the sauce has reduced, sprinkle some green onion and white sesame seed. Ready to serve.
