Braised Mushroom and Sparerib with Red Fermented Bean Curd

It is a great idea to braise pork sparerib with dried mushrooms! With the seasoning of red fermented bean curd and Chinese cooking wine, the dish goes very well with rice.

Step 1
Soak the dried mushrooms and remove the stems. Peel and slice the carrot. Soak the bean curd sheet until soft and cut into sections.

Step 2
Rinse the spareribs and marinate with light soy sauce, 1/2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine, ground white pepper, sugar, corn starch and sesame oil for 30 minutes.

Step 3
In a pan, add some oil on medium heat. Add ginger, red fermented bean curd and sauté until fragrant.

Step 4
Add spareribs and sauté until fragrant. Add carrot, dried mushrooms and sauté until fragrant. Add Chinese cooking wine and mix well.

Step 5
Add water, rock sugar and bring to boil. Reduce to medium low heat, cover the lid and cook for 20-25 minutes.

Step 6
Remove the lid, add bean curd sheet and cook for another 10 minutes.

Step 7
Add oyster sauce, mix well and ready to serve.
