Braised Duck with Taro

Duck is good for nourishing yin and lung. It is a great idea to braise together with taro and Chu Hou Sauce.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Peel and cut the taro into pieces. Flatten the shallots and cut the green onion into sections.

Step 2
Marinate the duck with Chinese cooking wine and light soy sauce for 20 minutes.

Step 3
Coat the taro with corn starch. In a pan, add some oil on medium heat. Add taro and sear until golden brown on both sides. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

In another pan, add some oil on medium heat. Add duck and sear until fragrant. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

Step 5
In the same pan, add some oil. Add ginger, shallots, green onion and chu hou paste. Sauté until fragrant.

Step 6
Add duck, water, rock sugar and bring to boil on medium heat.

Step 7
Reduce to medium low heat. Cover the lid and cook for 30 minutes.

Step 8
Remove the lid, add taro and cook for 10 minutes. Ready to serve.
