Braised Beef Brisket with Tomato in a Pot

Step 1
Cut the tomatoes in pieces

Step 2
Cut the onion and carrot in medium size

Step 3
Cut the beef brisket into medium sizes

Step 4
In a pot, bring the water to boil and blanch the brisket for 15 minutes

Step 5
In a skillet, add some oil on a high heat. Sauté the garlic until fragrant, add onion and cook until translucent, then add carrot and tomato paste, mix well

Add the tomatoes to sauté for 2-3 minutes, then add beef, red wine and water just enough to cover the beef

Add star anise, bay leaves, Italian seasoning. Cover the lid and cook it for 45 minutes to an hour on medium heat. Add salt, pepper and rock sugar to season

Transfer the stew to the clay pot and cook until the sauce is reduce about 30 minutes
