Black Glutinous Rice with Mango and Coconut Milk

Black glutinous rice is nutritious and it reinforces blood. Because of its sticky texture, it is always used to make desserts. By adding mango, it becomes a traditional Thai dessert.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Rinse and soak the black glutinous rice and glutinous rice overnight.

Step 2
Drain and place in the rice cooker. Add equal part of water and cook the rice.

Step 3
When the rice is cook, add the sugar (adjust the sweetness on your own preference) and let cool to room temperature.

Step 4
Peel and slice the mango and cut the dragon fruit in pieces.

Step 5
In a pot, add the coconut milk and bring it to simmer. Add the rock sugar and cook until completely dissolved. Remove from the heat and let cool.

Step 6
Scoop the glutinous rice in the serving bowl. Add the mango and dragon fruit, fill the coconut milk about 1/2 full and ready to serve.
