Beef Stew with Orange and Balsamic Vinegar Sauce

Chinese cuisine has a dish called Orange Beef, sometime it might taste a bit sweet when they serve in the restaurant to eat that taste a bit sweet. If you can cook your own and add some balsamic vinegar to balance the sweetness, also can bring the dish to another level.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Cut the onion in pieces

Step 2
Peel and cut the carrot and potato into pieces

Step 3
Zest and juice the orange

Step 4
Peel and slightly pound the garlic

Step 5
Cut the beef tenderloin into medium sizes. Season with salt and black pepper

Step 6
Dredge it with flour and place in a pan with oil on a medium high heat and sear until golden brown. Transfer to the plate and set aside

Step 7
In the same pan, add some oil and sauté the garlic, onion, carrot and potato for 2-3 minutes

Step 8
Add the red wine, beef broth, orange juice, orange zest, fresh thyme, balsamic vinegar and bring it to boil

Step 9
Reduce the heat to medium low, add the beef back and cover the lid

Step 10
Cook until the sauce has reduce by half and the beef and vegetable is tender

Remove the stem of the thyme, season with salt and black pepper

Step 12
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and ready to serve
