Barley Seafood Chowder

Step 1
Soak the barley for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside

Finely chop the onion

Cut the potato into small pieces

Dice the shrimp and squid

In a pot, add some oil on a high heat. Sauté the onion until fragrant

Add the shrimp and squid, cook for a minute

Add the white wine

Step 8
Add the flour to make it like a roux

Add the chicken broth and stir until no lumps

Add the potato and barley. Bring it to boil and reduce the heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes

Add the heavy cream, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper

Cook until the soup has thicken and ready to serve
