Braised Pork Knuckle with Onion and Black Pepper

Step 1
Rinse the pork knuckle and marinate with Chinese cooking wine, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and black pepper for 30 minutes.

Step 2
Slice the onion.

Step 3
Dice the red and green bell pepper.

Step 4
In a pan, add some oil on a medium high heat. Sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant.

Step 5
Add the pork knuckle and sear the skin unit golden brown.

Step 6
Add the green and red bell pepper, black pepper and cook until fragrant.

Step 7
Add the water, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce and rock sugar.

Step 8
Reduce the heat to medium, cover the lid and cook for an hour or until the pork knuckle is tender.

Step 9
Ready to serve.
