Purple Glutinous Rice Stuffed Squid

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Clean the squid and pat dry, set aside

Step 2
Wash the rice and soak it for at least 3 hours

Step 3
Combine the rice and glutinous rice in a large bowl

Step 4
Transfer the rice mixture to the plate and steam for 25 minutes

Step 5
Sauté the garlic until aromatic

Step 6
Add Chinese mushrooms and dried shrimps, sauté for 2 minutes

Step 7
Add the steamed rice to the pan, sauté thoroughly, about 2-3 minutes

Step 8
Season with sesame oil, salt, grated ginger and green onion

Step 9
Stuff the rice mixture inside the squids

Step 10
Secure the ends with toothpicks

Step 11
Add squid to pan fry until nicely golden on the outside, about 3-4 minutes

Step 12
Let it rest for couple minutes then slice into pieces. Ready to serve
